Gossip
Proverbs.16:28 A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.
Proverbs 18:7–8 (NIV) A fool’s mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul. The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man’s inmost parts.Women of God, do you remember this saying? Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. By now you have come to grips that words are powerful. The Bible says Proverbs 18:21 (NLT) The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Ladies, God desires that our speech be used to edify and encourage others, not tear them down. It has to stop!!! God is not pleased with all this foolishness. Stop being the dumpster, letting people drop trash inside of you. Stop listening to it, cut the person off before they get started. If you are the gossiper, stop it, one day you may look around and be the very one someone is putting their mouth on. Want feel so good then. It’s happening in the work place, church, and even in some homes. That’s not a Godly behavior. If it kills, steals or destroys you, it’s from it’s father, Satan.
The Consequences of Destructive Gossip
1. Death, many people have committed suicide behind gossip because their character has been damaged.
2. Broken Marriages
3. Broken Friendships
4.Spirtual Death, sin separates us from God. Gossiping is a sin
5. Lack of trust from others, and much more
Remember the tongue can be a destructive & deadly weapon. How will you use your tongue from this point on? If you have caused death by your gossiping, please go make it right. Repent, and turn from your wicked ways.
We must guard our tongues and refrain from the sinful act of gossip. God isn’t pleased. You are to represent him in every area of your life, if you are a child of God.
